I was delighted to work with the senior management team of Falkirk Community Trust, the Scottish Government, and key regional partners to found Falkirk Science Festival.
The opportunity arose due to the combination of STEM industries being at the core of Falkirk’s economy, the educators drive to encourage students to study STEM subjects at further education, and the unique scientific offering of Falkirk.
The first Falkirk Science Festival took place in 2019, and after successfully navigating the pandemic, the second and third editions were delivered in 2021 and 2022. The 2022 festival was a highlight with Falkirk’s very own Great Falkirk Bake Off, eight regional partners and 63 events taking place across 22 locations. The festival has continued going from strength to strength, with the fourth edition taking place in 2023.
