Returning to my home city and delivering an integral part of the Hull UK City of Culture 2017 programme was an honour.
Working for the BFI Film Hub North, and working closely with Hull Independent Cinema, the City of Culture platform enabled us to grow the independent cinema scene with partnerships from around the country.
With Hull Film Festival hosting its first outdoor screening at Stage@TheDock, the red carpet premier of The Last Viceroy with Director Gurinder Chanda, and a special tour from Up Projects Floating Cinema, it was a joy to support and promote the independent cinema scene in this vibrant city.
“Anna is a talented, conscientious and tenacious arts project manager. She was instrumental in the success of the BFI supported film programme for Hull 2017, bringing together and supporting what was a fragile film ecology in the city when she started and leaving a much stronger, healthy scene following her work supported by the strategic role of Film Hub North. I know that any company would benefit from having her on board.”
